Het ziet er naar uit dat de jonge Spike de rest van zijn dagen zal slijten aan de lopende band van een visconservenfabriek. Tot hij opgeslokt wordt door de reusachtige grijparm van één van de machines. Hij komt terecht in een duikboot die voor de kust aangemeerd ligt. Spike ontdekt dat het voorval geen ongeval was, maar een zorgvuldig geënsceneerde sabotage-poging. De kapitein van de duikboot en zijn knotsgekke bemanning hebben immers nog een appeltje te schillen met de directeur van de visfabriek…
RUST is the tale of two pirate radio stations anchored in the same murky coastal waters. One transmits from an ageing lightship; its arch-rival broadcasts from a submarine lurking just beneath the oil-slicked surface.
